Mary's lamb - white as snow or not?

If Mary did indeed have a little lamb, was it really as white as snow?

In my experience of sheep, they are rarely that white. I grant you though, my experience doesn't amount to much more than watching Countryfile on a Sunday evening.

So here's a photo of a lamb... white or off-white?

Snow white? Or a little bit brown (and yellow at the back end!)
